Enter the Earth Day Solar Power Raffle – and Support San Diego EarthWorks and Americans for Solar Power

he MyGen 1500 Grid-tie Photovoltaic Power System will generate an estimated 1,475-2,430 kilowatt-hours per year in San Diego and consists of 12KC125G photovoltaic modules, a Sunny Boy SMA inverter, courtesy of SMA (www.sma-america.com) and all of the safety and mechanical support equipment required for installation. The MyGen 1500 system will increase the value of the winner's home by more than $6,000, according to The Appraisal Journal, and significantly lower their electrical bills for the next 30+ years. The value of the system is $14,150.

    Proceeds from the raffle will benefit the nonprofit organizations: San Diego EarthWorks, organizers of San Diego Earth Day and the EarthFair in Balboa Park (www.earthdayweb.org); and Americans for Solar Power (www.forsolar.org).

    Raffle tickets are $5 each.

    To enter: mail a check by May 15 for the number of ticket-entries you wish to purchase, payable to: San Diego EarthWorks, PO Box 9827, San Diego CA 92169. To order ten tickets or more by credit card, call (858) 272-7370. You can also purchase tickets at any EarthWorks Information Booth at EarthFair on May 1.

Some fine print...

 

    Installation in San Diego County for the winner is courtesy of Independent Energy Solutions of San Marcos (www.indenergy solutions.com). Installation is included ONLY in San Diego County; if winner wishes to install the system elsewhere, the winner agrees to be responsible for shipping costs from Scottsdale, Arizona and all installation.

    This solar system us not suitable for all locations. The location for the installation should have a south-facing roof with at least 200 square feet of clear, unshaded area. Suitability for installation shall be subject to a site review by installer. Winner is responsible for all costs to make the building suitable for system installation.

Old or broken cell phone?

    If your cell phone is broken or worth less than $50, we will accept it for recycling. The phone will be recycled and $1 per phone will be donated to San Diego EarthWorks. You can drop off your cell phone at any San Diego EarthWorks Information Booth at EarthFair 2005.
