or the second year in a row, Wherehouse Records and radio station 95.7fm have demonstrated a committment to the environment and to local grassroots activism by producing and distributing an incredible CD whose sales will benefit San Diego Earth Day.
The Collector's Edition Volume 2 includes songs from Joan Osborne, SpaceHog, Gin Blossoms, The Why Store, Dave Matthews Band, Cowboy Junkies, Primitive Radio Gods, The Cranberries, Hootie & the Blowfish, Natalie Merchant, Dishwalla, Jewel, Deep Blue Something, Jars Of Clay, Paul Westerberg and Elvis Costello.
"I'm very happy to say that last years Collector's Edition Volume I raised $10,463 for San Diego Earthday," said Jeff Gelder, host/producer of Gelder's Global Gig, Music for the Planet, and the driving force behind the project. "This years CD once again has an incredible line-up of talented artists who have donated their songs for the cause, plus two songs unavailable anywhere commercially. I'm confident that San Diegans will buy more CDs this year and help the Wherehouse raise even more money to maintain and improve San Diego's beautiful environment."
The Collector's Edition Volume 2 is on sale now at all San Diego and Temecula Wherehouse Stores. All proceeds will be donated to San Diego Earth Day.
